Latest News - Yarra Gables makes Gold List

The inaugural Star Ratings Gold list of the best accommodation in Australia has been released. The top 10 properties in each category make it on to the Gold List. To be eligible a property must have been assessed against the independent quality standards of Star Ratings Australia and have an official star rating. The star rated properties that have the highest ratings from reviews posted by guests, across all of the major travel websites, make it onto the Gold List.

Yarra Gables, with a guest rating of “exceptional” and a score of 9.6 out of 10, made it onto the Gold List in 3 categories:

  • best guest experience in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges Region across all accommodation types - 4th out of 10
  • best guest experience across all motels in Victoria - 2nd out of 10
  • best guest experience across all motels in Australia - 2nd out of 10!!!

Yarra Gables Motel is the only property in the Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges Region to make it onto a national Gold List.

Yarra Gables’ owners Ralph Henderson and Helen Wood were very grateful for the recognition they had received and the feedback from guests.

Since buying the property in February 2014 they have worked hard to progressively upgrade it and to deliver outstanding levels of customer service.  It seems to be working!

Great place, a stone's throw from the town

We were welcomed by a very friendly genuine guy. The room was very clean, cosy and comfy, with plenty of facilities. Tons of towels in the beautifully clean bathroom too. Lovely surroundings and just a short walk to the town.

Lovely getaway

Very nice motel with lots of personal touches - chocolates and biscuits, and friendly staff. Stayed there before, and will be back again. Thank you.

Excellent Experience

We had an excellent stay in Healesville. We booked late and found the Yarra Gables Motel had a room available. The overall experience was excellent value for money but more importantly the thing that impressed us the most was the hosts. Helen and Ralph were terrific in recommending places to eat, wineries to visit and showed a passion for their town. We would certainly stay their again.

The brochure you gave us when we booked our accommodation said "Spacious suites offering first class accommodation with views." Our room was precisely that. We loved it so much we decided to stay an extra night. The room was clean, very spacious, very well lit and ventilated and fitted with modern appliances. One of the best motels we have ever stayed in. Ralph you were also very accommodating and helpful. We will definitely be recommending Yarra Gables to our family and friends should they be visiting Healesville.
